FAZILKA: Taking cognizance of the reports of recklessness attitude of some naka in-charges during their duty hours, Fazilka senior superintendent of police (SSP) Swapan Sharma has suspended six assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs). The suspensions came following a surprise check by Fazilka deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Gurpartap Singh on June 25 during which he found the naka in-charges absent from duty at night at different locations in the district.
Confirming the suspensions, SSP Sharma said while the derelict ASIs were suspended, a strict warning had been issued to their subordinates. Fazilka police lays night barriers at different locations to check smuggling of drugs and infiltration of anti-social elements into the border district, which shares its boundary with Haryana and Rajasthan.
