TV shows are going the filmi way when it comes to romantic rain sequences, with several serials incorporating them into storylines. In fact, the lead pair of Tu Mera Hero is all set to recreate Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s seductive rain dance from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Panchi and Titu (pictured alongside) will get intimate, baarish mein, to KKHH’s title track. In Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar the estranged couple Neil (Ronit Roy) and Ragini (Pallavi Kulkarni) rekindle their romance, under an umbrella. It’s not all about love, though. In Veera, a rain scene culminates in the death of a pivotal character.

Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi
RV (Shakti Arora) and Ishani’s (Radhika Madan) love story is going in circles. They have been in a love-hate relationship since the show began! They got married, divorced and now again were on the verge of tying the knot with different partners. RV was all set to marry the evil Hritika (Smriti Khanna), only because Ishani was getting married to Shikhar (Arjun Bijlani). When Ishani stops Hritika and RV’s wedding Hritika tries to kill Ishani. Shikhar finds Ishani’s body lying in the rain and tries to save her by carrying her out. Incidentally, the duo got injured while shooting the sequence as it was raining heavily.

Dream Girl — Ek Ladki Deewani Si
A series of misunderstandings has been dogging the love-struck couple Samar (Mohsin Khan) and Lakshmi (Nikita Dutta). Samar is upset because Lakshmi rejected his love when he had introduced himself as Raj Samosawala. Later, she comes to know that he is Samar Sareen, but since she is in love with Raj Samosawala, she rejects his proposal as she wants to pursue her ambition to become an actress. Samar. on the other hand, thinks that because he introduced himself as Raj Samosawala, Lakshmi rejected his proposal and when she realised that he is Sameer she has started liking him. Phew! To bring the lovers together his friend Karan (Kunal Verma) calls him to a studio where Lakshmi is present. She confesses her love for him in the rains. Interestingly, the scene was shot when the city was deluged in the rains last Friday.

Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar
Divorced couple Nachiket aka Neil Khanna (Ronit Roy) and Ragini (Pallavi Kulkarni) are staying together for the sake of their daughter Nishi (Rhea Sharma) to help her cope with her troubled marriage. Nishi falls sick and Neil who is a doctor panics when her fever is high. He steps out to buy medicines and Ragini is forced to join him by the children.  It’s raining heavily and the duo is walking under one umbrella. All through the way, Neil and Ragini keep up a flirtatious banter. A new beginning perhaps?

Reporters
Ronnie (Puru Chibber) and Ananya Kashyap (Kritika Kamra) are reporters working in a TV channel. Ronnie is in love with Ananya forever, but has never mustered the courage to tell her about his feelings. It’s on a rainy day that he  confesses his love for her. While on their way to cover an assignment, the duo get caught in the rains and they take shelter in a chai shop. It’s there that Ronnie bares his heart to Kritika. He gets down on his knees and asks her to be his life partner. At last!

Dosti...Yaariyan...Manmarzian
Though they don’t get along, sparks have been flying between Radhika (Monica Sehgal) and Arjun (Aham Sharma) for sometime. In the rain sequence, Arjun who is upset with Radhika walks away leaving her alone by a poolside. When Arjun slips and falls into the pool, Radhika cannot stop laughing. Irked at becoming a source of entertainment for the person he strongly detests, Arjun gets out of the pool, quickly picks up Radhika and throws her into the pool. He later realises that she cannot swim and jumps in to save her. Rains, pool and love blossoming. Mushy and romantic isn’t it?

Veera
While it’s love and romance on other shows, rains give a tragic twist to the happenings in Veera. Ratan (Sneha Wagh) finds a bomb placed in a dabba and alarmed, she decides to throw it away. It’s pouring heavily, but Ratan, in a bid to save the villagers and the stock of grains, is determined to throw the bomb as far as possible. Just as she reaches the village border, the bomb explodes and she dies. And with that, Sneha, who has been a part of the show for over two years, bids adieu.

Mere Angane Mein
Shivam (Karam Rajpal) and Riya (Ekta Kaul) are distantly related and while Riya loves Shivam, he couldn’t care less. She has made various attempts to tell him about her feelings but he ignores her. When he is playing football with his friends in the rains, Riya walks into the ground, goes down on her knees and proposes to Shivam. “Baarish ka mausam hai, it’s so romantic, I have been waiting for the  right time to confess my love for you and this is the best,” she says to a stunned Shivam. Atta girl!
