Revealed: Ravichandaran to play Dasharatha

R Chandru’s next project, Lakshmana — which sees the launch of politician HM Revana’s son Anup — is an emotional family drama, with the focus being on the relationship between the father and son. The makers wanted a strong character to play the role of Anup’s father, which is why they have zeroed in on V Ravichandaran.
“The whole story is based on the father-son relationship — Dasharatha and Lakshmana — and what the son does for his father’s sake.Both the characters are the heroes of the movie, which is why I didn’t want just a character, but a big star to play Dasharatha,” says Chandru. “The minister (Revanna) and the director (Chandru) approached me to play the father’s role. I don’t know the details of my role and heard just the brief. I have agreed to do it to help a newcomer,” says Ravichandaran. Meanwhile, Meghana Raj has been roped in as the female lead. She will play a college girl in the movie.
