Olympic Council of Asia condemns Kuwait deadly mosque blast

KUWAIT, June 27 (KUNA) -- The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has condemned Friday's deadly suicide attack on Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Kuwait City, which left some 27 prayer-goers killed and 227 injured.
"On behalf of the Asian Olympic and sports family, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences on this tragedy to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti government and the Kuwaiti people," said OCA President Sheikh Ahmad Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in a statement.
The Asian Olympic family was hurt by this terrorist act that runs counter to human principle and the Olympic Charter, which calls to spread devotion, peace and security amongst nations, he added.
He also pledged the OCA's commitment to condemning all forms of violence and terrorism, carried out against civilians in particular, and expressed hope that Kuwait be blessed with eternal stability and security. (end) fsa.sd
