Call it the diet pizza?
To bring down the fat and calorie content of the pizza, Musclefood.com an online portal based abroad replaced traditional bread flour dough base with pea protein powder. The pie was created by the company after it noticed a demand for them among those following a strict calorie controlled diet. The best part - it claims to be a fat-busting, super high-protein food which, at just 73 calories and 2.5 gms of fat per slice, has less than half that of takeaway versions which can often contain over 500 calories. With a base made from peas, the £4.95 pizza has the same amount of protein as three chicken breasts, and five times less carbohydrates than High Street pizza brands. The gluten and soy-free pie comes in two different toppings, Chicken and Pepper, and Ham and Mushroom, with the pea protein base adding approximately 10 gms of protein to the pizza. The idea of a healthy pizza definitely has some takers as these eateries in the city found out. We tell you where you can grab a bite.
