Hyderabad Collector meets CEO, DEO

June 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - HYDERABAD:

To keep an eye on the Telangana government lands in Secunderabad Cantonment area, the Hyderabad district administration is set to take stock of its properties.

Hyderabad Collector K. Nirmala met Secunderabad Cantonment Board Chief Executive Officer and Shekar Babu to discuss State government lands in the cantonment, which are classified as ‘B2’ in the General Land Registry (GLR) maintained by the DEO. According to sources in the Collectorate, the DEO had handed over a list of 130 State government properties in SC. Maps of GLR were also provided. “It was suggested to the Collector that a survey of State government properties should be taken up as the GLR records describes land that has not been updated in a long time,” an official said.

While the GLR records are up-to-date regarding Army and Central government properties, updating the status of the State government properties is not the DEO’s mandate. Though revenue records provide such details, the Collectorate may take up a survey, officials hinted.
