June 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - ANANTAPUR:

Continuing his surge of activities in his constituency, TDP MLA and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna flagged off a spree of developmental projects in Hindupur on Friday.

He started off the day by laying the foundation stone for the new building of the Hindupur II town police station at Rehamath Nagar in the town alongside Superintendent of Police S.V. Rajasekahar Babu.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Balakrishna said he was impressed by the work being done by policemen in the Neeru Chettu programme: more than 1.50 lakh saplings have been planted by the policemen.

He congratulated the SP for carrying out visible policing in the district, especially in Hindupur.

Mr Rajasekhar Babu responded saying that the police were concentrating on ways to reduce fatalities in road accidents and urged two-wheeler riders to wear helmets.

Mr Balakrishna also inaugurated newly constructed class rooms at the government school in Muluguru village in the constituency and laid the foundation for a cement concrete road in Kalluru village.
