New Bidar DC promises action against erring sugar factories

“We will take steps to ensure that sugar factories pay dues to sugarcane growers,” Anurag Tewari, Deputy Commissioner, said on Friday.

“We will form a committee of four senior officials who will supervise the operations. We will take strict action against erring factory managements,” he said.

Administration

Mr. Tewari said steps would be taken to tone up the district administration and make it people friendly.

The 2007 batch IAS officer was speaking to presspersons after taking charge from P.C. Jaffer, who has been transferred as project director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. Mr. Tewari, the 33-year-old engineer from Uttar Pradesh has earlier served as DC in Kodagu and Tumakuru, and Deputy Secretary, Finance.
