PUNE:
District superintendent of police Saurabh Tripathi on Friday met social crusader
Anna Hazare at Ralegan Siddhi and reviewed his security arrangements following a threat he received.
Tripathi inspected several locations including the training centre, office of Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jana Andolan trust and Yadavbaba Mandir.
Datta Awari, secretary of the social crusader, said Hazare had received the threat letter on Thursday.
"It is written by one
Sanjay Gholap, who claimed to be a
BJP worker, in Rahata in Ahmednagar. It warned Anna not to oppose the land acquisition bill. Gholap threatened that he will 'finish' Anna if he did not listen to the advice," Awari said. Awari said that Anna's
office manager had filed a police complaint at
Parner police station late on Thursday.
"Some gutka sachets were also sent in the envelop which contained the threat letter," he said adding that the Parner police are investigating.
