Malouda for Dynamos?
BENGALURU Former Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda could be Indian Super League team Delhi Dynamos’ marquee player for the upcoming season.

“Yes, he has been approached. He seems interested in coming to India. He might probably be the guy,” said a source in the know of the developments. Frenchman Malouda, 35, represented his country in two World Cups and was part of the squad that reached the final in 2006.

After making 149 appearances for the Blues, Malouda went to Turkish club Trabzonspor for a year during the 2013-14 season. He then signed for French club Metz after rejecting a move to Birmingham City.

Dynamos are also said to be roping in Brazilian World Cup winner Roberto Carlos as their marquee manager. However, a team official commented that “nothing is final on that front yet.”

Chennaiyin sign Edel, Fikru

Meanwhile, Chennaiyin FC have signed ISL winning duo Apoula Edel Bete and Fikru Teferra Lemessa for the second season of the ISL.

Armenian goalkeeper Edel and Ethiopian forward Fikru won the inaugural edition with Atletico de Kolkata (ATK). After the 2014 ISL, Edel played for Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel while Fikru was with South African outfit Bidvest Wits. Edel has previously had a spell with French giants Paris Saint-Germain in his career and has also represented Armenia at senior international level. Edel made nine appearances in last year’s ISL and kept four clean sheets with a memorable award-winning save in the final. Fikru has captained Ethiopia at senior international level and also has ten goals for the African country. Fikru netted five goals in 12 appearances for ATK.

Atletico have now announced the signing of four foreign players and has retained three foreign players from the previous edition in their lineup for the 2015 season.
