Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects in Qadian and asked the Local Government department to prepare a project report of remainder works so as to ensure that not even a single project was left unfinished.Presiding over a meeting with the delegation of Ahmediya Community led by the Chairman Punjab State Technical Education Board Mr. Sewa Singh Sekhwan here at Chief Minister’s Residence this morning, Mr. Badal monitored the progress of various development projects and schemes in this historic town.On the occasion, Mr. Sekhwan apprised the Chief Minister that the work on the disposal drain at a cost of Rs.25 crore as a part of the overall beautification of Qadian- the headquarter of Jamat-e-Ahmediya was being executed at full swing. This project would spruce the facelift of the town. He also informed that the works on the outer roads of the Qadian town have almost been completed but the repair work of internal roads was still pending. Mr. Sekhwan also sought directions from Chief Minister for the immediate repair of Street Lights which were not in working condition.

Responding to the development issues raised by Mr. Sekhwan, the Chief Minister said that no stone would be unturned to ensure overall development of Qadian as this historic town was known for its religious importance being the headquarter of Ahmediya Community which was committed for propagating the ethos of peace, harmony and brotherhood. A representative of the Ahmediya Community informed the Chief Minister that their religious ambassador His Holiness Mirza Masoor Ahmad  Khalijat-ul-Masih Vth would participate in the religious congregation to be organized in the coming December at Qadian and also extended an invitation to the Chief Minister for the same. The delegation thanked the Chief Minister for his keen interest in the development works of the Qadian. Meanwhile, Mr. Badal accepted their invitation and said he would certainly attend the function. The other members of the delegation included Shiraz Ahmad, Nasim Khan, Hafiz Makhdoom Sharif, Majid Mehmood, Ahsan Ghouri and Sami-ur-Rehman.

In another meeting with a deputation of local leaders and party workers of SAD led by MLA Nakodar Mr. Gurpartap Singh Wadala, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of development works in the Nakodar Assembly Segment. Mr. Badal gave his nod to the project of Brick Lining of Bist Doab Canal and its distributaries and asked the Secretary Irrigation to immediately invite the tenders for it. He also approved the widening of Phillaur-Kapurthala Road and the construction of bridge over Chitti Bein near Village Sarai Kham in Nakodar. He also gave approval for the construction of 1.60 KM road to link the historical building of Jehangir Sarai in village Mallian Khurd. Prominent amongst other who were present on the occasion included Additional Chief Secretary PWD Mr. N.S. Kalsi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. S.K. Sandhu, Principal Secretary Higher Education Mr. Roshan Sunkaria, Secretary Rural Development Mr. A Venu Prasad and Secretary Irrigation Mr. K.S. Pannu.
