City police on Thursday arrested five people for allegedly providing shelter to a murder accused, who was carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 on his head and was evading arrest for more than a year.

INDORE: City police on Thursday arrested five people for allegedly providing shelter to a murder accused, who was carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 on his head and was evading arrest for more than a year.
Police arrested murder accused Trilok Sisngh Thakur on June 18. Those arrested on Thursday for their involvement in crime, include Vijay Kewat, 26, a resident of Anjani Nagar, Pramod Jaiswal, 29, and Alok Chouhan, 29, both residents of Mali Mohalla, 25-year-old Rahul Bijwa of Raja Bagh Colony and 21-year-old Ajay Verma of Nageen Nagar.

Thakur, a resident of Raj Nagar along with his accomplices had stabbed Nitin Rathore to death in full public view in May 2014 and was absconding since then.
A joint team of crime branch of Indore police and Chandan Nagar police nabbed the accused. Superintendent of police (West), D. Kalyan Chakrawarty said, “Before murdering Nitin, the accused had planned to evade arrest with the help of his friends. During interrogation, the accused spilled the beans and named his aides involved in the crime. All of them have been arrested.”
