Ashok Leyland Dost small CV crosses 100,000 sales in 4 years
The Ashok Leyland Dost small commercial vehicle, which rolled out in the second quarter of 2011, has crossed sales of 100,000 units.

The first product manufactured from the Ashok Leyland-Nissan combine, the Dost is designed for a payload of 1.25 tonnes and is powered by a 55hp, three-cylinder 1.5-litre CRDI engine. Over four years, Ashok Leyland has introduced ready to use variants in the form of ambulances, refrigerated containers and service vans. The Dost is today the largest volume brand in the Ashok Leyland stable and is also exported to countries like Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Malawi, Male, and the UAE.
Commenting on the landmark sales, Vinod K Dasari, managing director, Ashok Leyland, said: ”The Dost fulfills an important gap in our portfolio, and 100,000 Dost vehicles on-road, across 11 countries, is proof of good product design, solid engineering, and strong market acceptance. The Dost is already the No. 2 player in its segment. We are very confident about its future.”
