LANDI KOTAL: Fata Disaster Management Authority and Khyber Agency political administration extended the last date for the repatriation of Shalobar displaced families till June 30 owing to slow process of registration.
Officials told Dawn on Wednesday that return facilitation forms (RFFs) were issued to at least 8,000 Shalobar families at the registration centre established in Qambarabad area.
They said that they had also issued bank ATM cards to about 7,500 families, going back to their homes in Dray Plara, Wandgaray and Sheikhmal Khel localities in Shalobar area of Bara.
FDMA and the political administration had earlier said that the return process of 10,000 displaced families of Shalobar tribe that was started on June 8 would be completed on June 20.
The date was, however, extended till the end of June as officials said that nearly 2,000 families were not yet registered at the Qambarabad registration centre.
They said that hot weather and the month of Ramazan also contributed to slowing down of the registration process.
