One more succumbs to injuries

One more person admitted to the Government Medical College, Kottayam, died on Thursday of injuries sustained in a bus accident at Anpathancham mile, near Vandiperiyar, on Wednesday.

The dead was identified as Vandiperiyar Diemukh estate Valliyammal, 65, the Peerumade police said. Puthuvayal Ganeshan, 35, who was seriously injured, had died on Wednesday itself.

The accident occurred when a KSRTC bus plunged into a gorge while allowing another KSRTC bus to pass on the Kottayam-Kumily road. Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash has sanctioned Rs.10,000 each to the 17 persons undergoing treatment at the Kottayam medical college and one person at a private hospital in Kottayam.

A sum of Rs.10,000 each has been sanctioned to conduct the funeral of the two dead persons
