DGP announces scholarships in favour of 40 students

SRINAGAR, June 25: Stressing upon the wards of police personnel for getting modern education, the Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, has said that in the present times quality education has been gaining more importance to make their career bright. He said that the parents have more responsibilities to guide their wards towards right path so that they could become responsible citizens of the society.
Mr. Rajendra was addressing at a meeting of Executive Body of Police Parivar Fund held at Police Headquarters here today. The meeting sanctioned scholarships in favour of 40 school going meritorious students  of JKP personnel.
Announcing the scholarships, he said that police organization has been taking care of the wards of its personnel including those wards whose parents have sacrificed their lives for safety and security of the people and public property.
Realizing the hardships faced by the personnel, the organization is taking various welfare measures to promote educational career of their wards which include setting up of police public schools at various district headquarters, grant of scholarships in favour of meritorious wards and the children of deceased personnel.
The scholarships have been sanctioned in favour of the wards who have secured 75 per cent and above marks in class 8th and 9th during the academic session 2014-2015. They are Meetika Sharma, Pooja Barut, Inam-ul-Haq Khan, Varan Khana, Palak Tickoo, Bindu Bala, Priya Sharma, Dikshat Sharma, Harshika Handoo, Taniya Baghat, Mehak Chib, Vanshdeep Koul, Aishish Pandita, Sarthak Sharma, Abhay Prashar, Ashika Sharma, Tushar Sharma, Abhishek Menia, Rakshita Khajuria, Niziya Sidque, Prabhjot Singh, Dharamveer Singh, Kanav Sharma, Gagandeep Singh, Shivali Sharma, Simran Traithia, Navjeet Singh, Munish Sharma, Danish Ahmed, Rohit Sharma, Rohit Koul, Sawariya Bhat, Pallvi Sharma, Anshu Gumdyan, Suneha Manhas, Ankita Jandial, Sarabpreet Kour, Akshiti Bhat, Jasvinder Singh and Tassavar Irshad.
