According to the data, the current stock will last the city for another 83 days, that is, till the beginning of September. The civic body supplies 3.750 million litre of water everyday to the city. The heavy rains have cast aside BMC’s apprehensions of imposing water cut, a senior civic official said.

The total useful content in Bhatsa, which accounts for 59 per cent of the water supply in the city, stands at 84,854 million litre, which is 29,099 million litre more than what was recorded last year at the same time.

During monsoons, Bhatsa lake is expected to reach its maximum capacity of 142 metre to supply water to the city for the next year. It has already reached 111.27 metre till June 25.
