Heist at SDM house: Cash, valuables gone

BHOPAL: Thieves barged into locked house of a sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) and escaped with cash, valuables and other household goods. The incident came to light on Tuesday after a case of theft was registered at Habibganj police station. Exact amount of stolen goods was unclear and the SDM and his family were on the way to Bhopal.
The incident took place in house of Ashish Pathak. Till few months ago, Ashish was SDM of TT Nagar circle, but is now posted at Singrauli, police said.
Pathak told TOI “I came to know from my neighbour about the theft. Burglars broke lockers of almirah, but what they took would be known only after his return. I took the family to Singrauli to complete admission formalities of my children there, he added.
The area where incident took place houses government officials and is considered safe.
However, it was the second incident that came to light in a few hours there. In another case, wife of an SDM was robbed of her gold chain there on Tuesday evening.
