Withdrawal of cases against KFD, PFI opposed

June 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - Hassan:

Members of the youth wing of Bharatiya Janata Party staged a protest here on Wednesday against the withdrawal of cases filed against the members of Karnataka Forum for Dignity and Popular Front of India in connection with the communal clashes they were allegedly involved in.

The State Cabinet recently withdrew cases filed at Shivamogga, Mysuru and Hassan in connection with communal clashes. The protesters, condemning the government’s move, alleged that the government was encouraging communal forces involved in criminal activities. They submitted a memorandum at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here, urging the government to change its stand on the issue. District Yuva Morcha president Channakeshava, general secretary H.N. Nagesh and vice-president Lokesh led the protest.
