Amreli in Saurashtra region was the worst affected district with more than 30 villages being cut off from the rest of Gujarat due to heavy downpour. According to disaster management officials, the situation worsened after waters of Shetrunji river entered the villages due to incessant rainfall. There were also reports of a bridge collapse from the area.
