If you have grown up watching Sanjivani- A Medical Boon, there's some sad, sad news. The show, which was one of the most successful on Indian television, had four medical interns (Juhi, Rahul, Simran and Omi), who join the hospital. Each one of them had high ideals, passion, energy – and a degree of naïveté about their work. The show became popular in no time and each and every character gained a special place in the hearts of the audience.

Remember Dr. 'Umesh' Omi Joshi, the character played by none other than popular TV actor Sanjit Bedi? According to reports, the actor passed way recently succumbing to a brain ailment. Apart from Sanjivani, Sanjit played pivotal roles in shows like Jaane Kya Baat Huyi, Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasman, Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka and Kasautii Zindagii Kay.

In one of the sequences of the show Sanjivani, Omi also donated his bone marrow in order to save a life. Watching his brilliant performance is bound to get you nostalgic about the good-old Sanjivani days.

His funeral took place at 11 AM at the Chandanwadi crematorium, Marine Lines. We wish his family all the strength in this world to deal with the loss. May his soul rest in peace.
