A woman professor of city's Prestige College allegedly assaulted a woman cop at Tukoganj police station on Tuesday. She hit her with a landline phone receiver after an altercation, according to police.

INDORE: A woman professor of city's Prestige College allegedly assaulted a woman cop at Tukoganj police station on Tuesday. She hit her with a landline phone receiver after an altercation, according to police.
Accused professor, Kalpana Agarwal, has been arrested and sent to jail.
Cops said Kalpana, a professor at city’s Prestige College, reached Tukokanj police station in the afternoon and inquired about a complaint lodged by her against her brother-in-law Ritesh Agarwal for use of abusive language and assaulting her.
She spoke with sub-inspector Sarika Rawat, who is investigating the case and had an altercation with her insisting why Ritesh was not being arrested, police officials said.
According to police Kalpana’s mother-in-law, Kaushalya Agarwal had also lodged a case against Kalpana alleging she abused her son Ritesh and also beat him. Police registered cases against both Ritesh and Kalpana on the complaints against the complaints and was investigating the cases.
"She came to the police station and started arguing with the official why Ritesh was not being arrested. In the midst of the arguement she suddenly took the phone receiver and smashed it on the head of the woman police official. She also tried to slap her," Tukoganj police station in charge, Dilip Singh Chouhdary told TOI.
He said, "Subsequently Kalpana Agarwal was booked under section 352 (Punishment for assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation) and 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of IPC and arrested. Later she was sent to jail."
Kalpana, a professor at city’s Prestige College, reached Tukokanj police station in the afternoon and inquired about a complaint lodged by her against her brother-in-law Ritesh Agarwal.
