Elderly woman killed in road mishap

JAMMU, June 23: An elderly woman who was injured yesterday in a road mishap at Rajpura in Kathua district today succumbed to her injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital GMCH), Jammu.
She was admitted in the hospital yesterday after a load carrier she was travelling in along with other people, was hit by an unknown vehicle at Rajpura area, last morning. The deceased woman has been identified as Rampyari (88) wife of Shajju Ram, a resident of Hiranagar. The body of the woman was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after completing medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, a man identified as Gurpreet Singh (30) son of Kulbeer Singh, who on June 15 was admitted in GMCH and later shifted to Bee Enn Hospital, Talab Tillo, Jammu, after he was injured in a road mishap at Rajouri, expired today at Bee Enn Hospital. The body of the deceased was later shifted to mortuary room of GMCH for post mortem.
In both cases, the concerned police have already taken cognizance.
