Governor K. Rosaiah visited Ahobila Mutt at Srirangam on Friday to seek the blessings of Srivan Sadagopa Sri Ranganatha Yateendra Mahadesikan, the 46th Azhagiyasingar of the mutt whose Sashtiabdhapoorthi celebrations are on at the Dasavathara Sannidhi.

The Governor who arrived in the city by flight immediately went by road to the mutt at Srirangam. Before leaving the venue, he told the media that he had come as a devotee not in his capacity as Governor. “I am also an ordinary man and came to offer prayers,” he said.

The Jeer said the Governor’s visit was in response to the mutt’s invitation to take part in the celebrations which aimed at overall welfare of the universe. “The Governor expressed his confidence of having been blessed through the visit to the mutt,” the Jeer said.

Later, the Governor left for Chennai by air.
