Taking to the streets: Protests against power outages

Residents of Landhi No 2 claimed their fans have been still for the last four days

KARACHI: As the relentless power outages continued in Karachi on the fourth day of Ramazan, residents of different areas took to the streets in protest. Qayyumabad Chowrangi, Korangi Expressway and Nagan Chowrangi flyover were blocked by residents on Monday night due to the severe power outages. Malir 15, National Highway, Landhi’s Babar Market, Korangi No 5 and Nasir Colony witnessed similar protests. Residents of Landhi No 2 claimed their fans have been still for the last four days. Meanwhile, New Rizvia Society, Saadi Town, Federal B Area Block 4, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 4, Abul Hassan Ispahani Road, Mehmoodabad, New Karachi and Nazimabad faced the worst outages of the year.
