Minister for Health and Medical Education Department, ARI and Trainings, Choudhary Lal Singh today inaugurated 30-bedded Emergency block building of Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital, Poonch.The block was damaged during earthquake and has been rebuilt at an estimated cost of Rs. 3. 81crore.

MLC Mr. Yash Pal Sharma, MLA Haveli Mr. Shah Mohammad Tantray, District Development Commissioner Nissar Ahmed Wani, SSP J S Johar, Mission Director NHM Dr. Yash Pal Sharma, Director Family Welfare Dr. Baldev Sharma and Project Director AIDS Control Society Dr. Mohan Singh accompanied the Minister.At Mandi, Poonch, the Minister also inspected the healthcare facilities at Community Health Centre and  directed the Hospital administration to maintain cleanliness in the hospital. He asked to ensure regularity as per duty the roaster. Earlier, the Minister visited District Hospital, Rajouri and took stock of the facilities being provided to the patients by the hospital administration. MLA  Ravinder Raina, MLC Mr. Vibodh Gupta, District Development Commissioner, Deepti Uppal, SSP Haseeb Mughal, ADC Mumtaz Choudhary, Mission Director NHM Dr. Yash Pal Sharma, Director Family Welfare Dr. Baldev Sharma and Project Director AIDS Control Society Dr. Mohan Singh accompanied the Minister. 

Choudhary Lal Singh went round each section of the hospital, met the patients and enquired about the medicare facilities.Taking serious note of poor sanitation in the hospital, the Minister imposed fine on Sanitary Inspector for dereliction of duty.He directed hospital administration for maintaining proper cleanliness in the hospital. Heissued directions to the Medical Superintendent to ensure that the medicos and paramedics adhere to proper dress code with name plate and are punctual.The Minister asked to ensure the display of duty roaster of hospital officials.Ch Lal Singh asked for putting in dedicated efforts for improving of medical facilities in Government health institutions. 

He asked them to work with missionary zeal and take all necessary measures to provide better services. He  said that Government would provide suitable official accommodation to the medicos serving in far-flung areas of the State.Responding to the locals demand, Choudhary Lal Singh directed JKPCC to upgrade approach road to the District Hospital. He said that Government has provided Rs. 36.36 crore for construction of District Hospital Rajouri building including approach road. He directed the executing agency to gear up their men and machinery in upgrading the road within 10 days.  Later, the Minister also visited Community Health Centres at Sunderbani and Nowshera and inspected the healthcare facilities. He went around the wards of the hospital and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients.
