GORAKHPUR: A workshop on human trafficking and missing children was organised at Police line in Gorakhpur on Monday.
The workshop was jointly organised by the
Gorakhpur police and Shakti vahini, an
NGO engaged primarily in the rescue work of the trafficked children and women. Gorakhpur has become more vulnerable to human trafficking after earthquake in
Nepal and India as the cross border movement has become easier now.
DM Ranjan Kumar, Commissioner RK Ojha, SSP Pradeep Kumar, DIG Sanjeev Gupta and other police officials along with the members of the Child welfare committee, representative of
UNICEF and NGO’s engaged in rescue work of human trafficking took part in the workshop.
