A meeting of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Union Steel Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Monday agreed to set up a unit of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, in Warangal. It was also decided to convene a meeting of Telangana and Central government officials shortly to assess mineral wealth in the State and where iron ore mines could be started, a release of the CMO said. Mr. Tomar called on Mr. Rao at his camp office during his visit to the city. Mr. Rao requested Mr. Tomar to see that the survey proposed by Centre on iron ore deposits in Bayyaram of Khammam district was expedited. The Union Steel Minister also visited the State BJP office and interacted with the party leaders there.
