‘Expedite NH upgradation work on Tindivanam-Krishnagiri section’

Cadres of Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a demonstration here on Monday demanding the government to take steps to expedite upgradation works of Tindivanam-Krishnagiri section of the Puducherry-Krishnagiri National Highway (NH66).

Town secretary of the party E. Thangamani led the protest held in front of the Collectorate. Earlier, the participants took out a procession from Vengikkal EB office.

K. Bheemrao, Mathuravoyal MLA, belonging to the CPI (M), delivered special address.

Party State committee member M. Veerabadran and district secretary M. Sivakumar were among the participants.

Participants spoke on the bad state of the road and demanded the governments to take steps to revive the work suspended as contractor gave up the upgradation work.

At the end of the demonstration, representatives of the protesters handed over a memorandum regarding their demand to the District Collector A. Gnanasekaran.
