PoK woman held near LoC in Rajouri

RAJOURI: Soldiers manning the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera tehsil of Rajouri yesterday apprehended a Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) woman after she crossed the fence.

Soldiers manning the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera tehsil of Rajouri yesterday apprehended a Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) woman after she crossed the fence.

Sources said during preliminary questioning, nothing adverse was found against the woman. It was reportedly established that the woman was mentally challenged and was not able to answer queries properly.

The sources said in the afternoon on Sunday, troops manning the border in Lam sector of Nowshera tehsil noticed the movement of a woman from PoK side heading towards the Indian post. Troops immediately raised the alarm and directed the woman to stop. She reportedly continued to head towards the post. After taking security measures, the soldiers apprehended the woman and produced her before senior officers for further investigation.

The woman was identified as Shabana of Changer in Kotli district of PoK. — OC
