The leaders of the future

The start of a new academic year marks the beginning of dreams, determination and dedication. The atmosphere around St Joseph’s College of Commerce crackled with excitement as elections were announced.

The filing of nominations certainly saw an abundance of candidates which was followed by their individual creative campaign.

The nominees reflected on their responsibilities and commitment in their formal speeches, while the rest of the student body spoke on their responsibility to make the right choice. Adhering to the system of secret ballot, all the students of the college cast their vote on June 10.

The results of the student council elections are President - Linfriola Shanel Pinto, Vice President - Divyanjali Josephine Lasrado, General Secretary - Utkarsh Facemann Choraria, Treasurer - Aishwarya Mohan, Ladies Secretary - Amala Mukundadas, Academic Coordinator - Ajay Varadarajulu, Cultural Coordinator – Rishi Poovamma, Sports Coordinator - Kenneth Antony D'souza, BBA Coordinator - Snehal Chetti and BCom TT Coordinator – Pranav Bharadwaj With the candidates chosen, it now remains to be seen if the young leaders justify themselves with the responsibilities bequeathed upon them. With hopes for an eventful academic year, the college yet again, justifies the belief that — “The ballot is mightier than the bullet”.
