~ Program organized across 42 schools of Mundra and Mandvi blocks of Kutch
district to spread awareness on education, health and environment ~

Tata Power, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Coastal Gujarat Power Limited (CGPL), partcipated in the Shala Pravesh Utsav program organized by Government of Gujarat and Panchayat, across 42 schools of Mundra and Mandvi blocks in Kutch district which reached out to over 1000 students impacting their lives significantly. Tata Power has always been a front runner for the cause of education & prosperity of the children, in and around its operational areas. In line with this mitment, CGPL, in partnership with the Government of Gujarat and the respective panchayat, organised this program aimed to drive encouragement among the parents to enroll their wards in schools.

The special focus for the Shala Pravesh Utsav program is on raising awareness on enrolling the girl child in schools, emphasizing on importance of education for all. The overall program impacted over 1000 students, especially the new entrants of 1st and 5th standards and the girl child. The program significantly helped in the holistic development of the students and would help to sustain the new enrolment in schools for the future.

Furthering the cause of bringing enlightenment to the children the program included awareness through Shiksha Sarathi van and advocacy sessions to support education. The sessions included motivating parents to enroll their children in schools. CGPL also distributed 1000 school kits apart from books for primary school children. Several Aganwadi workers nominated children to receive nutrition kits in order to improve health and hygiene status among them. Program also included setting up of Shiksha Sarathi Stalls to spread message of literacy and impact of Shiksha Saarthi effectively. A tree plantation drive was also undertaken by the children, to underscore the importance of a green environment.

Our initiatives is aimed at providing a holistic development of students to build a brighter and better future and reinforces our mitment towards building the power of the nation - its Youth. We are overwhelmed by the response received and profusely thank the local Panchayats, Government bodies and school teachers and principals who aided towards the success of the program. We, in future will always strive hard to reach out to every possible household to ensure education reaches to every student in our operational areas, especially girl child. Further, we are also thankful to the Government of Gujarat and panchayat for inviting us and make the program a grand success.."

The Shala Pravesh Utsav which is organized by Govt. of Gujarat and Panchayat is a regular annual program and CGPL has included this program in "Shiksha Sarathi" program which aims to extend quality education to every child at the operational areas of Tata Power. CGPL has been participating in the program for the last several years and has witnessed overwhelming participation from the children. The initiative will help in reinforcing mitment of Tata Power towards its munities and help in developing a sustainable relationship with them.
