Central Vigilance Commissioner K.V. Chowdary underscored the need to protect whistleblowers, who bring into light irregularities committed in various Central and the State government departments.
Addressing at a get-together programme here on Sunday, Mr. Chowdary said the whistleblowers would always face threat from those who were committing irregularities.
He said there was a need to identify irregularities at the initial stage for effective control and curbing such practices.
Need to intensify checks
The Central Vigilance Commissioner also emphasised on the need to intensify checks in a planned manner, which would enable those responsible in unearthing the irregularities.
“Plans are being prepared for conducting checks in efficient and effective ways,” said Mr. Chowdary.
Agriculture Minister P. Pulla Rao, Narsapur Member of Parliament Gokaraju Gangaraju, former Tamil Nadu Governor P.S. Ramamohan Rao, former Minister Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao and others participated in the programme.
