Techie drowns at Mekedatu while trying to take offbeat photo

A techie working in Bengaluru died in Cauvery at Mekedatu when he slipped into its deep waters when he was trying take a photograph on Saturday. 22-year-old Naveen Nagore, who hails from Jaipur, was on a picnic with 12 of his friends. They left Bengaluru on Saturday morning and were in Mekedatu in the afternoon. They also had a party and clicked photographs facing the water. When Naveen tried to a take different photograph, he slipped to the waters and was washed away. A case has been registered in Sathnur police station and the fire and police teams are working to locate his body.

All the 12 techies, five girls and seven boys, reached the Sangam at 7 am and at around 8 am, they went to a place called ‘Hanneredu Chakra’ (12 wheels), which falls between Mekedatu and Sangama. According to police, this place is dangerous due to frequent whirlpools.
