Naidu should quit: Vishnu

June 19, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

City Congress president Malladi Vishnu on Thursday said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should resign from the post following his alleged involvement in the cash-for-vote scam.

Criticising the Chief Minister for emphasising on implementation of Section 8 of A.P. Reorganisation Act after the cash-for-vote scam hit headlines, Mr. Vishnu said the incident exposed Mr. Naidu’s true nature.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Vishnu alleged that the Chief Minister never bothered to take up the special status and other issues with the Central government. But since last few days, he was making rounds of New Delhi to wriggle out of the scam.

The Congress also condemned the Centre’s move to increase the MSP for paddy by a paltry Rs.50. “As an ally of the BJP government, the TDP should also be blamed for neglecting the interests of farmers and failing to address their issues,” he said.
