People belonging to all walks of life are gearing up to celebrate the International Yoga Day by taking part in the mass yoga event to be held in the district on Sunday.

To create awareness among people about the importance of yoga to lead a healthy life, BJP activists led by party president Palle Ganga Reddy took out an impressive motorbike rally from Pulong Chowrasta to NTR Chowrasta here on Saturday.

On the occasion, he appealed to the people to actively take part in the event on Sunday. Mr. Ramchander and Mr. Sidhaiah have been practicing and popularising yoga for quite a long time, he said.

At a separate programme at Indur Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Head, Department of Psychiatry at Government Medical College Dr. A. Vishal conducted a seminar here on yoga and said that practicing it has been scientifically proven to help prevent several diseases.
