Gangi Reddy’s aide, seven others held

In a major cache, Kadapa Anti-Red Sander Smuggling Task Force personnel arrested an eight-member inter-State gang of red sander smugglers including Jangala Sivasankar, main accomplice of international red sander smuggler Kollam Gangi Reddy, and seized 190 logs, four cars, a lorry and seven mobile phones worth around Rs. 8 crore at Thippireddipalle Crossroads on Yellaturu-Chintakommadine Road.

CIs Rajendra Prasad and Y. Venkateswarlu and other Task Force officials nabbed Jangala Sivasankar alias Mantapampalli Siva of Gandlapalle village in Vontimitta mandal, presently residing at Bengaluru and seven of his associates during vehicle checking , Kadapa SP Navin Gulati told a press conference in Kadapa.

The seven others arrested were Syed Asif Ali and Syed Areef of Shankanipur village in Bengaluru, Banavath Surendra Naik of Bashinakonda village in Madanapalli mandal, Ambati Sudhakar Reddy of Tadpatri in Anantapur district, Dhuli Ravi Shankar of Mittapalli village in Vallur mandal, Puli Krishnaiah of Akuropalli village in Sidhavatam mandal, and Dhuli Sreenu of Pushpagiri village in Vallur mandal in Kadapa district, he said.
