‘Zero tolerance of crimes on women’

The chairperson of the Haryana State Commission for Women, Kamlesh Panchal, said during a press conference on Saturday that the state would follow a policy of zero tolerance in cases of crimes against women.

GURGAON: The chairperson of the Haryana State Commission for Women, Kamlesh Panchal, said during a press conference on Saturday that the state would follow a policy of zero tolerance in cases of crimes against women.
She made this statement in the wake of three rape cases reported in the past 12 days in the city. She said women must be commended for juggling family and work life with ease.
And it’s the responsibility of the men to lend support to women.
She also said those found guilty of committing a crime against women should not be spared, even if they are senior government officials.
She said that the commission was set to organize sensitization programmes to educate people on their responsibility and duty towards women. She praised the city police for solving the cases of crimes against women promptly.
DCP (crime) Ved Prakash, who was present at the press meent, said, “Rape survivors are not only given professional counselling by police but also offered any other help they might need.”
