Valuables worth around 7 lakh stolen

Valuables worth Rs5.59 lakh were stolen from the residence of Omkar Parve at Radhakrishna Nagar in Wathoda Layout. The burglary came to light on June 16.
The burglars sneaked into the residence after breaking open the locks of the front door. They decamped with valuables including LCD television, mobile phone, saris, dress materials, ornaments and other material.
An offence was registered at Nandanvan police station.
In another incident, residence of Nikhil Chakole at Netaji Nagar was burgled on Friday. Thieves stole valuables worth Rs1.37 lakh, including cash Rs23,000. An offence was registered at Kalamna police station.
3 booked for molestation
Three persons, including an unidentified one, have been booked for outraging modesty of a woman and threatening after they manhandled a 38-year-old woman and her family members and also ransacked their house at Lakadganj on Friday. The dispute was triggered after the complainant asked the culprits to return the loan they had taken from her. Gotu Bondre, Rahul and others barged into the residence of the woman and assaulted the family. They also ransacked the room leading to a complaint against the trio at Lakadganj police station.

Father-son among 4 booked for fight over trivial issue
Shivcharan Sahu and his son Akshay have been booked, along with their accomplices, for allegedly assaulting Imran Habib and his younger brother Mausim over a trivial issue at Dattatreya Nagar on Friday. A case has also been registered against Imran and Mausim on the basis of counter complaint lodged by the Sahus.
Akshay owns a snacks stall. It’s learnt that Shivcharan and Akshay assaulted Imran and Mausim after the brothers allegedly refused to pay for the snacks they had taken from the stall. Imran and Mausim also assaulted Akshay with a hard object. Sakkardara police have registered offences against both Sahus and Habib brothers.
Rural police raids country liquor den
Rural police, under supervision of SP Arti Singh, stormed Champa village in Kuhi taluka on Friday arresting 10 persons and seized materials worth more than Rs 6.62 lakhs while busting several dens where country liquor was being manufactured illegally. Around 163 drums were seized having 10,276 litres of base materials required for manufacturing country liquor, two sacks of dried flowers and around 770 litres of prepared crude alcohol meant for sale in the market. The police squad also seized 50 ton of woods worth around Rs 13,200. Offences were registered against the culprits at Kuhi police station.
Hit by speeding car, man dies
An unidentified man, aged about 40 years, died in an accident after being hit by a speeding car near Bole Petrol Pump Square on Friday. The Sitabuldi police have arrested the accused — a 39-year-old man named Sanjay Wankhede. A case of causing death by negligence and rash driving has been registered in the matter.
