Hyderabad: President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several peethadipathis are being invited for the Godavari Maha Pushkaralu from July 14 to 25.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will take a dip on the first day with his family at Dharmapuri in Karimnagar district, famous for age-old Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple.
Sources said the CM will now write letters to the VVIPs. The President is expected to participate in pushkaralu, but the PM’s visit is doubtful. The CM will call on the President personally and invite him to the Pushkaralu when he will be in Hyderabad for the southern sojourn from June 28 to July 8.
The TS government has earmarked Rs 500 crore for the Pushkaralu like Maha Kumbha mela and is expecting 5 to 6 crore people from all across the country to take a dip during the event, which occurs only once every 12 years.
