Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Dola Sen on Friday threatened to slap a civic police volunteer.

The incident took place when the concerned civic volunteer, who was managing the traffic, stopped Ms. Sen’s car at the Chinar Park area on the eastern fringes of the city for allegedly violating traffic rules. Ms. Sen, however, denied the allegation.

“The MP’s car was on the wrong side of the road. When I stopped her car, she said that she was an MP. Then she threatened to slap me,” said the concerned traffic volunteer. According to eye witness accounts, Ms. Sen’s car was on the wrong side of the road.

Denying the allegation Ms. Sen said that no such altercation took place between her and the civic volunteer.

“I have not violated any rule and neither do I harbour any grudge against the police,” she said.
