Three of family killed as car rolls into gorge

Three of a family were killed on Friday when their car rolled down into a gorge in Dalhousie area here, the police said.

Two women who were working on the roadside were hit by the rolling vehicle and sustained serious injuries, they said.

One of the deceased identified as Baldev Raj died on the spot while his wife Seema and son Anshuman succumbed to their injuries on way to Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Tanda (Kangra), the police said.

The victims belonged to Bhalei area, they said.

The injured women identified as Durgo Devi and Tripta Devi, both local residents, were rushed to civil hospital at Dalhousie for treatment. A case has been registered in the matter, they said, adding, the bodies have been sent for post mortem.

Meanwhile, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Dalhousie, Richa Verma sanctioned an immediate relief of Rs. 20,000 to the next of kin of the deceased persons and Rs. 3,000 each to injured person. - PTI
