CHICAGO -- Chicago Cubs chairman Tom Ricketts met his wife in the Wrigley Field bleachers. That’s an important part of his narrative as fan/owner of the team.

Of course, that was well before it was the Budweiser Bleachers, officially renamed in 2006.

Now, prospective couples can say they met in the Hornitos Hacienda.

What the heck is that, you’re asking?

The Cubs announced Friday that they signed Hornitos to a naming rights deal for the new “left field well” in the rebuilt bleachers.

Hornitos will also be the official tequila of the Cubs. So if you’re doing tequila shots every time Kris Bryant gets a hit, make it Hornitos, or you’re not a real fan.

I think that’s how those official deals work, anyway.

This “hacienda,” which is supposed to mean an “estate” or “ranch,” is a fairly tight space that is essentially the first two rows of seating divided into “designated standing room” and “limited seating for groups of approximately 15 to 50 fans.” Fans can reserve it for semi-private parties, and the Cubs suggest that it is perfect for bachelor or bachelorette parties.

Hornitos will also get signage on the left field wall and an in-game promotion on the new left field videoboard. Hornitos drinks will be served all over Wrigley Field.

Personally, I would have gone with Chicago's own Jeppson's Malort and the Malort Moat. The bleachers are a Malort kind of place.
