A day after she was convicted in one of the solar fraud cases, prime accused Saritha S Nair threatened to reveal the names of the political leaders who had cheated her.

Nair told the media that she would submit before court a list of leaders who had cheated her.

“I was made a scapegoat in the controversy, in which several ministers and legislators were involved. Don’t try to annihilate me. Those who had promised to protect me in the controversy abandoned me. I will reveal everything. I am not concerned whether my revelations would impact the outcome of the ensuing by-election,” said Nair.

Referring to her recent allegation against Kerala Congress (M) MP Jose K Mani that he had sexually exploited her, Nair said many other big shots were involved in the issue.

Nair’s advocate Fenni Balakrishnan also joined the issue, alleging that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had provided financial support for Nair to settle the cheating cases filed by duped investors. He said Chandy’s loyalists Benny Behanan and Thampanoor Ravi played middle men in taking money from Nair.

Festive offer

Balakrishnan said while Nair was in judicial custody, Chandy had telephoned him to extend all support.

He added that Congress minister Adoor Prakash, former union minister K C Venugopal and Congress legislator A P Abdullakutty had financially helped Nair. Incidentally, Nair had raised sexual allegation against these three leaders in the past.

However, Chandy refuted the allegations raised by Balakrishnan. “The court verdict, granting jail term to Nair and her co-accused Biju Radhakrishnan, has justified the government stand. I have not helped the solar scam accused in any manner. The court verdict has proved that the allegation that the chief minister had helped the accused was baseless,” he said.
