Man cons jeweller, steals ornaments worth 6L

A man duped a jeweller of Rs 6 lakh on Wednesday. A case was later registered in Kotwali police station. The accused was caught on CCTV at the shop. In total, six gold rings, eight gold chains were stolen.

BHOPAL: A man duped a jeweller of Rs 6 lakh on Wednesday. A case was later registered in Kotwali police station. The accused was caught on CCTV at the shop. In total, six gold rings, eight gold chains were stolen.
Police said the jewellery shop is owned by Faraz, a resident of Ibrahimganj. The accused went to his shop and introduced himself as Saleem resident of Peergate. He convinced shop owner that his wife is a regular visitor there and wanted to see some jewellery.
The accused requested the jeweller to send someone with him with jewellery that he could show to his wife as she could not come up to the shop. He then went inside a religious establishment after taking jewellery from salesman and exited from the other side following which the matter was reported to police.
Doctor duped: A doctor was duped of Rs 15,000 by a man, who introduced himself as employee of a nationalised bank and took details of ATM card. The accused used the money for online shopping. A case was later registered in Kamla Nagar police station on Wednesday. Police said Dr Anurag Sharma, a resident of Nivesh Nagar, who is posted at Primary Health Centre, Ratibad, got a call wherein caller introduced himself as a SBI official and asked for his 15 digit ATM card, CVV number and pin telling him that card is going to be blocked due to misuse by someone. However, after some time, the doctor received a message that money has been debited from his account.
Student dies in accident: A 22-year-old MBA student died while one other sustained injuries in a road accident here on Wednesday night. The case was later registered in Piplani police station. Police said Satyam Singh, a resident of Sector-C in Piplani was returning home with a friend after a party when an unidentified vehicle hit him from behind. The duo were rushed to hospital where Singh died while the other youth, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, remains critical.
