BARTI tips to check fake caste certificates

NASHIK: Professors from the Babasaheb Ambedkar Research Institute (BARTI) on Thursday showed officials in the district administration various ways used by applicants to obtain fake caste certificates from the civic administration.
At a one-day session organised for senior officials of Nashik and Ahmednagar at Niyojan Bhavan in the city, the teachers listed various minor facts that should be checked for issuing genuine caste certificates.“It is very easy for the applicants to deceive the machinery as they tend to produce all kinds of certificates. These certificates can be obtained from schools, education institutes and hospitals located in remote and rural areas and help establish their identity while seeking caste certificates. All such certificates, when cross checked by vigilance departments, fail to meet the criteria and are cancelled,” said B T Muley, a BARTI professor.
