The latest from 24 Frames Factory, Dynamite , directed by Deva Katta of Autonagar Surya fame that has producer Vishnu Manchu himself in the lead has started drawing attention for more reasons than one.
While it marks Vishnu’s another attempt at getting the spotlight of fame onto himself, it is also Deva Katta’s second venture at making an action-packed feature film, post Autonagar Surya that did not do as well as it was expected when it hit the screens on June 27 last year. Sources in film production circles said a lot was expected from the director.
Dynamite is said to be the story of a boy and a girl on the run with plenty of action episodes put together by stunt director Vijayan of Dabbang and Wanted fame. It has only three songs, including a studio-based surprise item sort of number and a proper duet with Vishnu shaking a leg with Praneetha of Atharintiki Daredi fame.
Deva Katta swears that fans will find the 125-minute-long Dynamite made of adrenaline-racing stuff interesting.
The tempo and tension will be maintained from the first to the last frame, much like Bourne Identity and Mission Impossible , while not being a copy, he points out, recalling Jean-Luc Godard, the Franco-Swiss filmmaker’s line that goes, “All you need for a movie is a gun and girl.”
A welcome change
For an industry where ego clashes and professional rivalry are as common as a Thursday release, the latest development is a welcome change. The makers of Baahubali requested the team of Srimanthudu to postpone their movie keeping in mind a possible dent to the business of both the movies. While Baahubali is scheduled to release on July 10, Mahesh Babu starrer Srimanthudu was gearing up for a July 17 release. The producer of Baahubali , Shobu Yarlagadda, tweeted on Thursday thanking the producers, directors and star cast of Srimanthudu for considering their request. While there has been no official announcement from Srimanthudu producers, news doing the rounds is that the movie will be postponed and released in August.
