: About 500 short-listed beneficiaries from various parts of the district would be given title deeds on Friday. Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash will hand over the land documents to the beneficiaries at a function on the Civil Station premises.
Officials said the ‘Pattaya mela’ has been organised as part of celebrating the United Democratic Front-led government’s achievements in the last four years. The documents would be issued to people who were selected from four separate categories, they added.
Applications to shortlist the eligible beneficiaries for the ‘Pattaya Mela’ were invited in January 2015.
An adalat was also held at the Malabar Christian College to facilitate the same. Mainly, applicants from Laksham Veedu colonies and ‘Puramboku’ land were considered.
Revenue officials said they had already processed 80 per cent of the total applications received through various adalats for title deeds. The remaining ones would be processed shortly for the second phase distribution, they added.
During the ‘Pattaya mela’, the Minister will also launch a new mobile application, which was designed by the district administration to deliver various government services in an effortless way. The new survey digitisation centre at the Collectorate too would be opened on the day, officials said.
