BELAGAVI: Belgaum Bullet Gurus (BBG) are getting ready to conquer the tough terrains of the Himalayas on their Royal Enfield bikes. The group of bikers this time will be riding for a cause: 'Save Himalayas'.
The thrilling bike journey starts on June 21. Fourteen 'Bullet Gurus' will be part of 'Save Himalayas - The Great Himalayan Dream Ride 2015'. They are set to cover over 3,000 kms and will create awareness about pollution in the mountain range.

"Tourists from all over the world visit the Himalayas. Waste management is a neglected area. We see heaps of plastic bottles, plastic covers, bags and tea cups on the mountains. There is no mechanism to clear the waste here. Recently, Nepal government requested climbers to bring at least 10kg waste with them while coming down. All these things motivated us to take up this expedition," said Lingaraj Jagajampi, BBG member.
To create awareness, BBG members will distribute more than 5,000 stickers, 10,000 pamphlets, educative banners, t-shirts and badges. Team members will reach Chandigarh by train and will start their bike expedition on June 21. "Bikes have already reached Chandigarh," said a team member. Bikers will cover Manali, Jispa Pong, Leh, Khardungla Pass, Nubra Valley, Kargil and Ladakh on their way to Himalayas. They also plan to visit Kargil War Memorial.
