KARACHI:

The Arambagh police station chief has been suspended over allegations of taking a bribe for registering a complaint.

Arambagh SHO Alam Dahiri was suspended on Wednesday by Karachi AIG Ghulam Qadir Thebo. He was also demoted from inspector to sub-inspector by the city police chief.

Police spokesperson Inspector Qamar Zaib Satti told The Express Tribune that Thebo had suspended and reverted Dahiri after a citizen had complained that the Arambagh police had taken Rs200 from him for the registration of a non-cognisable FIR (rozmancha entry).
